for Broncos’ offensive line success Good morning Womens Phillip Lindsay Jersey , Broncos Country. For several years the Denver Broncos have been trying to find consistency on the offensive line. One of the primary issues fans have come to grimace about is the team’s inability to find a high-caliber right tackle over the past few years. Whether it was acquiring Menelik Watson or Donald Stephenson in free agency or missing early on in the NFL Draft with Ty Sambrailo or Michael Schofield the franchise hasn’t had much luck anchoring down the right side of the line. But the constant game of offensive line musical chairs hasn’t ended at the right tackle position, it has also been going on the interior for quite some time as well. Allen Barbre, Evan Mathis and Louis Vasquez were all free agent acquisitions who saw significant time as starters since 2015. The team drafted Max Garcia in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft and he has started 37 games since then, but hasn’t been a high-level performer, though valued because of his versatility. Last year, the Broncos threw a boatload of money at Ronald Leary in free agency hoping he could be a stalwart on the interior for years to come. He was an impact performer at right guard for eleven games before missing the five games due to injury — but that’s was the big question with Leary when he was signed — could he stay healthy? When Leary went down, the Broncos called upon 2016 fifth round selection Connor McGovern to replace him. He struggled in his first few games, but down the final stretch he started to hit his groove and perform well. Throughout the offseason, McGovern has been the starter at right guard for the franchise and doesn’t appear to be in jeopardy of revoking that spot anytime soon. In fact, Head Coach Vance Joseph praised the third-year player for his consistency and growth over the past year.“Connor has played well since last year, about Week 15 to now. He’s been a consistent performer. I’ve been really impressed with Connor,” stated Joseph. “He’s smart, he’s tough and he doesn’t make mistakes. That’s huge when you’re a starting guard on the offense,” he added.McGovern graded out as one of the top players on offense in the Broncos’ loss to the Bears this past Saturday, but wasn’t just locked in at just one position. With rookie Sam Jones being sidelined by injury, McGovern also saw time at center http://www.denverbroncosteamonline.com/bradley-roby-jersey , proving that he’s one of the most versatile lineman on the roster. His continued development should pay big dividends for the Broncos this year and help the offensive line become a unit of strength, as opposed to one of great concern for the coming season — which is also something Joseph acknowledged.“I think it allowed us to have our five guys that we know can play and kind of find three more guys who can be swing guys for us,” stated Joseph. “When you have five guys you feel good about, it allows you to play five together for a long period of time so you can gain some chemistry, so you can play well together. That’s key with offensive line play, having great chemistry.”Here is to hoping that the Broncos’ revamped offensive line consisting of Garett Bolles, Ronald Leary, Matt Paradis, Connor McGovern and Jared Veldheer can play at a high level this coming season and give Case Keenum and the rest of the Broncos’ offense a chance to do something special on the field. As always, thank you for reading and here is today’s offering of Horse Tracks.Horse TracksDemaryius Thomas exchanges autographed jersey for challenge coins — 'the best things today' — from military airmanThomas got two coins from a service member visiting for the USAA’s Salute to Service NFL Boot Camp. With special teams tackle, Alexander Johnson shows off natural physical abilityHead Coach Vance Joseph emphasized, though, that Johnson needs to be in more meetings and play more football as the preseason continues.John Elway needs to take some blame if the Broncos don’t win this yearJohn Elway's start as a general manager was aided by Peyton Manning and Elway hasn't been as good since Manning retired.Taste of the Broncos Q&A with chefs Troy Guard and Lon SymensmaWith less than a month before Taste of the Broncos presented by King Soopers on Sept. 10, we spoke to two of Denver's top chefs about why they love being part of the event.Pat Bowlen: How Broncos owner, on cusp of Hall of Fame, changed Denver 34 years agoThey were all young back then Authentic Bradley Chubb Jersey , when the Broncos’ cramped headquarters were north of downtown and the organization had made one Super Bowl in 24 seasons of existence.Back healthy, Clinton McDonald bolstering Broncos' defensive line depthBroncos defensive lineman Clinton McDonald knows how to rush the quarterback. With great turnover, the Denver Broncos had to hit some home runs to rebound from a disappointing 5-11 season last year. It sure looks like they did just that heading into Week 1 of the 2018 regular season. The best personnel move could be any number of additions to the roster, so the Mile High Report staff debated that question in today’s roundtable discussion. Let us know what you think in the comments section below. What was the Broncos’ best personnel move this offseason/preseason?Ian St: The Broncos draft class of 2018. The picks and undrafted free agents not only benefit the team this season, but set it up for the future. That’s a major win.Hart: I believe that upgrading the offense in the past NFL Draft was the best personnel move the team made. It looks like Royce Freeman, Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton are all poised to make an impact as rookies and are well on their way to being the foundation of the team’s offense for years to come.Adam: The best personnel move was drafting Bradley Chubb. I know that saying their first round pick was the best move seems like a cop out, but hear me out. When the Broncos passed on a quarterback with the fifth pick, they sent a clear message about the direction the team is going. They weren’t going to panic and pass on a guy who can have immediate impact up front. Drafting Chubb also seemed to be the catalyst to what appears to be a solid draft class http://www.denverbroncosteamonline.com/jared-veldheer-jersey , which seems to have set the Broncos up for success for the next few years.Scotty: Marquette King. Dude kicks footballs far and flips the field position.Joe R: Best move was finding a quarterback. One of our starters last year is floundering for the Vikings, one is buried on the Miami Dolphins depth chart, and Paxton Lynch may only stay in Denver because he’s John Elway’s boy. Case Keenum doesn’t even have to set the world on fire for this to be a monstrous upgrade.Pete: Quarterback! That was the single biggest move that Elway/VJ made. The reason I include both of them is because they both did something. Elway got us a legit starter and mentor in Keenum, and VJ actually made a wise coaching decision by moving Lynch down the depth chart and promoting Chad Kelly (who Keenum is mentoring from the sounds of it). The QB position has stabilized, which means the offense will finally stabilize. Lets hope Keenum stays healthy, but if he doesn’t, we’ll have Kelly, not Lynch coming in to save the day, and I’m quite comfortable with that.Sadaraine: Moving Paxton Lynch down the depth chart hands-down with no question whatsoever. The guy is a bust and putting him in the same place as the other position players where you need to earn your place is the best way to prove it to the FO. Moving on from this mistake is the best thing for the Broncos season in 2018.Taylor: The Broncos’ best personnel move won’t show up on the 53 man roster. Firing O-line coach Jeff Davidson & replacing him with Chris Strausser & Sean Kugler was an A+ move by John Elway & Vance Joseph, and one that probably won’t receive the credit it deserves. The O-line was abysmal under Davidson, so moving on was a solid decision. But the real gem here is the decision to split the job in half, with two coaches now specialized toward the interior and outside line positions. Combine that with two nice hires and the O-line was set up for the success we’ve witnessed this preseason.Jeff: I’ll stay in the same vein as Taylor. I think Jared Veldheer will be one of the best under the radar signings of the year by the end of the season. He has already stabilized a position that we have consistently had below starting caliber talent occupying since 2016. Veldheer is looking more and more comfortable in his new position since switching over to RT last year and I think will continue to get even better there. It has been incredible to watch the right side of the line not immediately cave to pressure every passing snap, so far this preseason.Laurie: My favorite is a tie between bringing in Marquette King and Jared Veldheer - both players will have a major impact on this team, I think. But I believe the most important one will prove to be keeping Bill Musgrave as offensive coordinator (after he filled in mid-season when Mike McCoy was fired). I’m not sure this qualifies exactly as a “personnel move” this season, but the decision to keep him as OC and the corresponding faith to let him design a creative offense that can take advantage of mismatches and misdirection is already proving valuable as Case Keenum is throwing to a lot of different targets - including tight ends and running backs. Hallelujah.
